  Day Two 1-20-05: Email (jmwarner@uiuc.edu)your items and skills to add to the class economy by noon (1-20). Watch Agnes Vardes documentatry film "The Gleaners and I". French filmaker, Agnes Varda explores the act of gleaning (to gather after the harvest). She expands the definition, as will we, for the purpose of examining all kind of ways of reuseing 'valuable' material. This concept will drive our autonomous class economy. OVER THE WEEKEND: Browse artist list and choose two artists that interest you (or more). Send me your artists by Tuesday so I can start to create a schedule. You can also get a jumpstart by diving into the reading (linked below) by Susan Sontag, though we will not discuss it till later next week.

  Day Three 1-25-05: Meet at the Urbana Free Library - Upstairs in the Historical Archive. 201 Race Street, near the Lincoln Sq. Mall, at the intersection of Elm and Race. DIRECTIONS HERE Keep you eyes open for buildings, spaces or places that you find interesting and would like to know more about.
