Figure Drawing II
In Figure II drawing is approached as a means to expand not only our perception of the human figure, but also as a vehicle to explore drawing as a whole. The course begins with a review of the basics (gesture, mark-making, proportion, line, value, portraits, composition). The objective is bring all students to the same technical capability. Next we explore intention and intuition. Students respond to the figure, its stance, space and the materials with obvious intention or pure intuition. Last, conceptual, visual and materials exploration are addressed. Drawings advance into narrative by means of space and objects, textures and grounds and a variety of materials.
